Description:The Turf, a public house at 434/5 Monument Road, Ladywood, where it meets Spring Hill, is seen here in a photograph taken on 12th February 1959. Monument Road is to the left. This was an Atkinson's pub and sported a neon sign above the corner door. Around this time the licensee of the Turf was Arthur Riley. It closed in 1967 and was demolished to make way for the Ladywood Middleway/Spring Hill road junction.
