Description:A press cutting from the Birmingham Gazette December 16th 1918, which describes polling day scenes in London. " Polling on Saturday was marked by an almost total absence of disorderly conduct.
An outstanding feature of the election in London was the number of women who exercised the privilege of voting. In one division the proportion of women to men voting was ten to one, and in some districts the women voters outnumbered the men by fifty to one".
