Description:An election campaign leaflet for H.J Odell, the Labour candidate in the Handsworth Ward for the General Election in 1918. The leaflet appeals to "The Woman in the Home" and focuses on housing issues demanding:
Good houses at reasonable cost
No rack rents
No damp, dark, overcrowded tenements!
but
A cottage with a garden
A minimum of three bedrooms hot and cold water laid on
A bathroom
And A parlour where the youngsters may do their lessons, where the big boys and girls may entertain their play-fellows, and where the mothers and fathers may rest or see their friends.
