Date:1960 - 1968 (c.)
Description:The Commercial Inn at 28 Shakespeare Road, Ladywood, on the corner of Anderton Street, was a Mitchells & Butlers pub. In this photograph it looks very smart, with the word 'Wines' over the door on the corner, but it had to make way for redevelopment and closed on 30 May 1968. Shakespeare Road has disappeared completely, but the Commercial Inn was more or less where St Mark's Crescent is now, off Ladywood Middleway.
