Description:The Balsall Heath Carnival has been running since 1977 and the parade has always been a major part of it. The parade winds it way around the local streets and finishes at the carnival show ground. It tells everyone that the carnival is about to start and points the way.
... and most of those who take part have a lot of fun. For many years the parade started with flags and banners. This is Mr Chohan who carried that oversized flag at the front of the parade for several years. This picture is from 1985.
