Date:5th of April 1883

Description:The men are not named in this picture and all appear to be uniformed police. Honours were bestowed on several members of the police in the wake of the conviction of the Ledsam Street conspirators. Police foiled a plot to make dynamite at 128 Ledsam Street with the intent to blow up the government. The plot was part of the wave of Fenian mainland terrorist activity during Victoria's reign.
