Description:The Rev J Bell, the present Rector was instituted in March 1920, coming to the Parish from St John’s, Walthamstow; and it is most gratifying to record that during his ‘regime’ several additions have been made both in the Church itself and in the Services. Much useful work has also been accomplished, as the following short summary bears witness.

1920. Provision made for a temporary Rectory, and definite steps taken to inaugurate a Fund to provide a permanent one when the occasion presents itself.

The Chancel beautified by the regular provision of flowers in brass vases, the gift of Mr T E Bunch, in memory of his mother.

1922 The Choir augmented by the addition of Boys, and at the unanimous wish of the Church Council, the Male Members robed

A new Font in the Church, presented by the family of the late Edward King Mason.

1923 An Oak Reredos and Tablet dedicated to the memory of the men of the Parish who sacrificed their lives in the Great War.

1924 A complete new system of heating installed in the Church at a cost of about £700.

1928 A beautiful Oak Communion Table presented by the Congregation and a few friends to the memory of the late John Walford Lea.
