Description:The Rum Runner was located just along from where the Hyatt Hotel stands on Broad Street. A famous Broad Street music venue which will be forever remembered because Duran Duran played there so often in their formative years. This advert in 1969 is from the Birmingham Despatch and is for a residency at the club by "The Cinnamon Quill". They appear to have been a "psychedelic rock band" and never achieved any commercial success. Fans of the genre would poin you to "Candy" or "Take It Or Leave It" as good examples of the band's style.
