Description:A resident in the backyards of Florence Street. Visible are the wash tubs and wash houses. This image was used as evidence supporting the need to do something about conditions in the back to backs in Lee Bank.

The Public Works Dept of Birmingham Corporation photographed the back to back housing in Lee Bank extensively prior to demolition and re-development. Today Florence Street is occupied by small businesses and can be found off Holloway Head.
