Description:"Junior Reid, one of reggae's most respected vocalists, an energetic performer with incisive lyrics and catchy beats. His first single was 'Know Myself' recorded in the mid 70's. He then formed the band 'Voice of Progress' : recordings include the majestic 'Mini Bus Driver'. Other singles such as 'Original Foreign Mind' and 'Babylon Release the Chain' have further enhanced his reputation as a powerful roots singer. When Michael Rose left Black Uhuru in the mid 80's, Reid joined the group as their lead singer, contributing to two LP's 'Brutal' and 'Positive'. Reid performed at the Santa Rosa / Rialto club, Handsworth during the 80's. His solo LP's include 'One Blood' (1990) 'Listen To The Voices' (1996) and 'Boom Shack-a-Lack' (1998)."
