Date:1897

Description:A newpaper cutting from the Birmingham Mail, December 27 1897.
This article recounts the story of a man attempting to travel from Snow Hill to Perry Barr during thick fog.
Because of the poor visibility the traveller was forced to walk in front of the cab to guide it for most of the journey. Upon arrival the cabman asked for double fare and asked to be seen safely onto the main road.
