Description:Often overlooked as the series run does not commence in earnest until the 1940s period. The 1920s editions are one of the few documents to offer a condensed appreciation of what was taking place in the city culturally, both high and low brow. The 1920s is always viewed historically as a period of gay abandon and hedonism but only if you could afford excess and were a founder member of the correct coteries. The graphics have a whiff of the Art Deco to them and the pages capture the explosion of new forms of popular culture taking prominence.
