Description:In 1913 Harry Grigg went to Blackpool and visited The Casino a new cinema theatre. So impressed was he that he persuaded the manager George Harris to come to Balsall Heath and open a picture house there which he named the Imperial. It was specially noted for its "select and high class audience". Music was also a strong feature as Mr Harris brought with him his talented pianist Mr Burtenshaw.

In more recent times the cinema closed and the building subsequently ran as the Cave Arts Centre. It has now been demolished.
