Description:This was painted by Raymond Mason when he returned from Paris following his mother's death. It was here that he grew up and at the time of his return the area was being demolished to make way for the Lee Bank development. So for Mason there were two "endings" running in tandem. Since then the area has now undergone another redevelopment as the previous one had fallen largely into disrepair. Mason is a former pupil of the nearby St Thomas's School when it was located on Granville Street.
