Date:1778

Description:This is a detailed section of the map. Most of the area shown is filled with the orchards and fields which lined the route from Bath Row down into Holloway Head. Note that the very end of the route into Birmingham is here still called Exeter Row, this later just became the logical extension of Holloway Head. As you approach Birmingham down Holloway Head (and just after the section where it says "Holloway Head") you can see Chapman's Windmill on the right hand side of the road. At the end of Exeter Row and right ahead is Smallbrook Street with signs of the dense housing spreading out of the city already in evidence. Just to the right of Exeter Row is Brick Kiln Lane which was later renamed as The Horsefair.
