Description:In 1999 tenant action in Lee Bank to get something done about their housing conditions reached a peak. Demonstrations and protests increased and pictures such as these were used to publicise the state of Lee Bank. this image with "help!" sprayed on the side of the passageway became one of the most famous images. Subsequently the area plus four other nearby locations were stock transferred to Optima Community Association and a programme of urban regeneration commenced.
