Description:The brewery was founded in 1898, becoming probably the most recognisable Midlands brewery. In 1961 it merged with Bass. The brewery finally closed down in 2002 following takeover from Coors. The brand was switched to Coors home in Burton On Trent. The M & B site was demolished and cleared and at time of writng in 2006 is being redeveloped as residential properties.
