Description:The Birmingham Sporting Club raised a lot of money for local charities. They held regular functions at The Tower Ballroom at Edgbaston Reservoir. Here they are presenting a £1,000 cheque to the House Governor Harold Shrimpton. Also on the photograph in the centre of the picture is Christian Kunzle who was President of the Hospital. Kunzle is best remembered for his cake/ chocolate shops in Birmingham and his wonderful gesture of sending sick Birmingham children to his hometown of Davos in Switzerland for recuperative breaks in the mountain air.
