Date:5th of February 1921
Description:A ticket for the ceremony at the Town Hall when the Council presented David Lloyd George with the Freedom of the City. All presumably went well but many of those present (including Lloyd George) would have remembered that 20 years earlier at the Town Hall he had had to escape from an angry crowd, furious at his opposition to the Boer War! This event is covered in more detail on this website along with a contemporary cartoon.
