Description:The residents are gathered to celebrate the coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The boy on the right in the white peaked cap is Ernie Pearce. Leslie Checkley, who donated the photograph, recalled that, "Although this was a special event we often had similar type parties at weekends. On Saturday nights someone would wheel a piano down the street to a neighbour's house and we'd all have a sing song!"
