Description:Soho House Museum celebrated its 10th birthday in 2005. The Asian Women's Textile Groups wanted to celebrate by designing and making some costumes to display in the house. After careful research they decided to make Regency style costumes with a contemporary Asian twist. 3 costumes were made to suit particular room settings. The blue dress was made for Miss Boulton's bedroom to complement the colours and designs already to be seen in that room. The day dress was made for Miss Boulton's Powdrey, the intricate sindhi stitch used to refelect the pattern on the floorcloth in that room. The cream dress was made for the Drawing Room with delicate stitchery and beadwork designed for the bodice and wrap. The exhibition was launched on 11th August 2005. All the dresses had been hand made to fit some of the Soho staff, so on this occasion the dresses were worn to great effect in the garden to the backdrop of Matthew Boulton's House.
