Date:21st of May 1919

Description:Following the end of the First World War George V expressed a wish to make a visit to Birmingham. He had last been in 1915 to see facilities for wounded soldiers at Bournbrook and was known to have a special regard for the city. On 21st May 1919 he came back and was afforded the usual civic splendour. In the morning he had visited the Children's Hospital at Five Ways. When this picture was taken (outside the COuncil House) around the middle of the day he was reviewing troops before a lunch at the Council House. In the afternoon he went out to Bournville to see the Cadbury village.
