Description:This man was featured in the "reported missing" section allocated each week during the war as a Weekly Mercury feature.

Private Bowne was reported missing on the 1st of July. His parents of 33 Browning Street in Ladywood were anxious for news. It was also added that he had worked at the Rubber Works on Ruston Street. Sadly Private Bowne was eventually certified as having been killed on the 1st of July at Thiepval. He served with the 1st/ 6th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was 21 years old. By the time his details were passed to the Commonwealth Wargraves Commission his mother Minnie was listed as now living at 4 Back 74 Sherborne Street in Ladywood.
