Description:The Old Meeting Church stood on the east side of Bristol Street, on the corner of Ashley Street. The church was built by the Unitarians, dissenters who had quite a long history in Birmingham. The famous Joseph Priestley, whose home was destroyed by rioters in 1791, was of course a Unitarian minister. The Old Meeting Church lasted until the mid-1950s.
