Description:This advertisement for W.R. Lowe, greengrocer, of 16 Cox Street West must date from the 1930s. William Lowe's business first appears in directories in that decade, but neither he nor his address appear again after World War II, so perhaps the shop was a casualty of the war. The entire street has now vanished from the map of Birmingham, but it used to run from Balsall Heath Road to Lincoln Street, near the Belgrave Middleway/Pershore Road junction.
