Description:This view of Five Ways, Edgbaston, dates from 1969 and brings out the scale of the redevelopment in the 1960s. The construction of the underpass is in progress, the view being from Hagley Road towards Broad Street and the City Centre. The slender tower near the centre is actually the narrow end of Auchinleck House, built in 1964, with Five Ways Shopping Centre beneath it. The Five Ways junction was opened for traffic in 1971. The building on the right is now the Marriott Hotel.
