Description:The children in the reception class at St Thomas' Schools look quite well-behaved in this 1947 photograph, but one has to wonder how long it was before the vase of flowers on the table got knocked over. The tin bath on the left is a bit alarming: the children are wearing aprons so presumably something messy is about to happen. The school was on the corner of Granville Street and Bath Row, facing St Thomas' Church. The secondary modern department was a few door further along Granville Street.
