Date:7th of September 1949

Description:It was clearly a sunny day on 7 September 1949 when this photograph was taken in Bristol Street. The view is looking north towards the city centre and the church on the right is Old Meeting Church. On the wall at the extreme right is an advertisement for A. Harris & Sons, Ltd who were plumbers, the building presumably being their premises at 152 Bristol Street. No. 154, nearest the camera, belonged to L.N. Collett, furniture dealer. Bristol Street seems very quiet in the early autumn sunshine, without even a tram in sight.
