Description:Edgbaston Assembly Rooms, on the corner of Francis Road and Hagley Road, Edgbaston. The building was erected in 1884, and this photograph was taken around 1890 by W. Horton of Francis Road. In the background is Francis Road Congregational Church, while above the door at the corner it says 'F. Roberts, Cook & Confectioner'. Like most buildings in the Five Ways area the Assembly Rooms were demolished in the late 1960s to make way for new development.
