Description:This painting by Joseph Southall is in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. It was presented to them by Anne Elizabeth Southall in 1945. The Gallery note that: "Southall's brilliant draughtsmanship can be seen in this study of ships and is particularly clear in his portrayal of the calm Venetian waters".

Joseph Southall lived in Charlotte ROad for most of his life.
