Date:2nd of December 1924

Description:This newscutting from the Birmingham Gazette of 2 December 1924 reports a road accident in Hagley Road, Edgbaston. Two people in the car escaped with their lives when the vehicle skidded and hit a tramcar head-on. The extent of the damage suggests that they were very fortunate, and one wonders what happened to the tram, its driver and passengers. As was the fashion of the time, numerous bystanders crowd around the scene of the calamity for no readily apparent reason and stare at the camera.
