Description:King Edward's School, Five Ways, occupied this building in 1895 when W. Horton of Francis Road took this photograph, but it had originally been home to the Birmingham and Edgbaston Proprietary School which opened in 1838. The Tudor-style building on the northern side of Five Ways (Hagley Road is going off to the left) was bought by the King Edward Foundation in 1882. The school moved to a new site at Bartley Green in 1958 and this building, like most of the other old buildings at Five Ways, was demolished when the junction was rebuilt.
