Description:Edgbaston Reservoir, also known as Rotton Park Reservoir, was built to provide water for Telford's new Wolverhampton canal in the 1820s, but has long had a recreational role for Birmingham people. Here, in 1906, children are playing by the bridge and fishing. The boys in the foreground look particularly well turned-out in their caps and Eton collars. It is reassuring to see a lifebelt in the background.
