Description:Spring Hill Library, Ladywood, on the corner of Spring Hill and Icknield Street, was opened in 1893. A splendid Gothic affair in red brick and terracotta with a tower and steeple, it was designed by Martin & Chamberlain who were responsible for several other public buildings in Birmingham, often done in a similar style. Spring Hill Library still survives today in spite of plans to move or remove it.
