Date:1961

Description:A scene in Ruston Street, Ladywood, photographed in 1961. This would appear to be a courtyard off Ruston Street, judging by the street-lamp and the path leading to the front doors of the 'back houses'. There were also several engineering firms in Ruston Street, which ran from Broad Street to Morville Street. The name Ruston came from the maiden name of the wife of John Ryland, whose family owned the land.
