Description:The Banqueting Hall in the Council House, Birmingham. Even this black-and-white postcard conveys the magnificence of the interior of Yeoville Thomason's building. The Council House was erected between 1874 and 1879. Yeoville Thomason had a large architectural practice in Birmingham and was also responsible for the Synagogue in Blucher Street, the Congregational Chapel in Edgbaston and Barclays Bank in Colmore Row, as well as the City Museum and Art Gallery.
