Date:1957

Description:The junction of Cregoe Street and Irving Street, Lee Bank. The boarded-up shop on the corner was formerly H.B. Bradshaw Ltd, who were drapers, carpet specialists and men's, ladies and children's outfitters. The photograph was probably taken some time after the shop closed in 1958. Local people remember the clock still visible on the corner of the building. On the left Cregoe Street is heading towards Bath Row and the top of the tower of St Thomas' church can be seen above the roofs. The section of Irving Street on the right no longer exists but the premises of Wright & Platt can still seen here. Listed as 'model makers' in directories they would have made patterns for the engineering industry, but had decamped to Bishopsgate Street soon after this.
