Date:1885

Description:Walter Langley, born in 1852 and brought up in Irving Street, later became part of the Newlyn School of English painters. His subject matter was largely the lives of Cornish fisherfolk, and 'Memories' is a watercolour example dating from 1885. In the same year it was given to Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery. It has been suggested that artist's licence is in operation here as the window is improbably wide for a cottage.
