Description:These buildings in Bristol Street, Lee Bank, at the junction with Wrentham Street, are among the few that remain of the shops and other businesses that used to line both sides of Bristol Street. From before World War I to the 1970s when directories ceased to be published these buildings at 100 to 104 Bristol Street have been used by the Francis Williams Oil Co. Ltd, first listed as oil merchants and later as dry salters. They were also latterly used as a depot by paint manufacturers Titanine Ltd. The decorative brickwork features are not, perhaps, getting the attention they deserve nowadays. The photograph was taken in 2004.
