Description:Interior of the Town Hall, Birmingham, from a postcard. Begun by Joseph Hansom and Edward Welch in 1832, the building was first used in 1834 although it was still not finished. Mendelssohn's 'Elijah' and Elgar's 'Dream of Gerontius' were both first performed here.
