Date:27th of June 1957

Description:An impressive pedimented doorway in Ellis Street, Lee Bank, photographed on 27th June 1957 when demolition was clearly not far off. To judge from the slope of the pavement this building was on the west side of the street, which runs from Holloway Head up to Gough Street. The plate on the wall seems to feature a star, which together with the number 47 just discernible over the doorway should indicate that these had been the premises of Star Industrial Tools, of 47 Ellis Street, who were diamond tool manufacturers.
