Description:In 1884 Abraham Follett Osler, the renowned inventor of the self-regulating anemometer, decided it would be the ideal place to do accurate meteorological readings. So for the next 95 years, under the auspices of the Birmingham and Midland Institute, they observed, recorded and forecast the city’s weather. Its highs, (94degrees in the shade) and lows (24 degrees of frost).
