Description:The Children's Hospital, Broad Street, Birmingham. The Birmingham and Midland Free Hospital for Sick Children was founded in 1862 by Thomas Heslop and moved to this building on the corner of Sheepcote Street in 1869. The hospital moved to a new home in what is now Ladywood Middleway in 1917, but the original building in Broad Street still survives. This tinted postcard view dates from around 1906.
