Description:Interior of the Oratory Church, Hagley Road, Edgbaston, looking towards the altar. The church, designed by E. Doran Webb, was built from 1903 to 1909 in memory of Cardinal Newman (who had died in 1890). It incorporates various materials and features imported from Italy, including an altar from a church in Rome and the marble columns seen on both sides of the nave. As this postcard was posted in 1913 the church was only recently completed.
