Description:This postcard was sent by a mother to her convalescing son, a World War One casualty. Private Harold Willey (16629) survived the War. his convalescence was at the Battenhall Red Cross Hospital in Worcestershire. He served in the 14th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. This battalion was raised in Birmingham in September 1914 by the Lord Mayor and a local committee. This was the first of the Birmingham Pals battalions.
