Description:In this photograph we are looking up Lee Bank Road (still not yet the Middleway)towards Five Ways. A crane can be seen in operation up at Five Ways if you look carefully. The wall to the right of the picture is Faraday House. In the middle foreground is the top end of Elvetham Road with the grocers on the corner which apparently was owned by an Irishman named Jimmy! Just past this shop the next two tower blocks were to be built - Chiswick and Audleigh.
