Description:A snippet from the Oratory Church magazine from the Second World War. It reads: "Our beautiful green copper dome has "gone with the wind" of fashion, and has painted her face; in other words she is camouflaged, for on moonlit nights she was very conspicuous". The concern was that the dome would act as a beacon to the Luftwaffe in their aerial attacks on Birmingham.
