Description:The Royal Mint public house stood at 200 Icknield Street, Ladywood, taking its name from the actual Mint that is on the opposite side of the road. Presumably people only became confused if they had been in the former establishment first. The photograph must date from the 1960s and shows Hingeston Street to the left of the Atkinson's pub, while to the right a sign indicates a cafe for those who require less alcoholic refreshment. Redevelopment has removed these buildings and transformed Icknield Street into a dual carriageway.
