Date:1890 - 1898 (c.)

Description:A rare view of Bristol Street in the 1890's showing the original St Luke's Church (to the far left) which had to be demolished in 1899 due to being in an unsafe condition. A new church was built on the same site which stands to this day just by the island at Lee Bank Middleway and Bristol Street. The more grandiose bulding in the centre is the Wycliffe Baptist Church, sadly long demolished.
