Description:There were big differences between living in Edward Street and Faraday House. Both Gwen Hatton and her mother Emily Morton (seen here together) had grown up in the world of back to back housing with outside toilets and wash areas shared by several families. In Faraday these facilities were all inside and private. It was also all "new" with the associated "mod cons". It was luxury by comparison.
